Interviewed by Joe & answered by Xul Give my readers a brief history of Azazel. Azazel was formed April of '99. The two founding members are myself, vocals and bass, and Xaphan who plays guitar. We have gone through many drummers and seem to use session players. Azazel has released a demo CD called "Order of the Fly" and will be releasing a split CD with Krieg on Genocide Music. The split should be out by the time this gets printed. Over the past year we have been playing many shows and writing material. You can expect a full length out very soon and Blood Fire Death Records is re-releasing the 'Order of the Fly" CD. For more info go to the website, http://redirect.to/azazel. Compare the Ep "Order of the Fly" to what we can expect from the split CD with Krieg. Well. honestly the songs featured on the split were written right after yhe "Order of the Fly" was released, so the song writing is very similar. The splits material is much more intense and the drums are fucking flying. I am pleased with the result of the split and even though te songs were written around the same time, the new material does show maturity. Expect chaos and blasphemy! Any label offers lately? Azazel has been ignored by most but like I said Genocide Music is releasing the split CD and Blood Fire Death has expressed an interest to put out the full length and Genocide may be willing. We will determine who is putting it out when it is done being written and we are ready to record. What are some of your and the bands influences and current favorite bands? I am influenced by chaos, death, astral projection and blasphemy. Musically I support the true kults like Krieg, Absu, Averse Sefira, Judas Iscariot, Anteaus, Bloodstorm, Maskim, Thornspawn, The Cold Beyond, Burzum, Dark Funeral, Marduk: the list is endless. What do you think of bands like Cradle of Filth, Dino Burger (Dimmu), Borethiis (Mortiis) and facist black metal? To each their own. Describe the relationship you have with the Church of Satan. I myself am a Satanist but I am not a member of the Church of Satan. Xaphan is a member, so I can't answer for him. Satanism is very personal to each individual. Azazel is planning to start a grotto called the "Order of the Fly" and interested parties should contact us.
