What is the line up of the band?
The lineup of the band is Xul on
bass/vocals and myself on guitar/additional vocals. We are searching for drummer right now to
complete the lineup again.
What are the releases of the band?
The releases we have done are "Order of
the Fly" mCD, the Kult ov Azazel/Krieg split CD and our newest offering "Triumph of Fire".
Why this name? Kult ov Azazel ... is
there a particular meaning?
We originally went by just Azazel. We
changed it to Kult ov Azazel last year to distance ourselves from all the other bands out there using
the same name. Azazel was a demon of war. So that is the meaning behind the name, really not much
to it.
Your songs on the split disc featuring
Krieg are a bit old. Will your future songs be different? What evolution does the band follow?
Yes, those songs are very old. Our newest
album "Triumph of Fire" is in the same vein but with much better production. Don't get me wrong it's
still the Kult ov Azazel sound but the mixing is much better and all instruments can be heard. It's
been getting really good reviews so far and I think it's by far the best songs we have written. I
wouldn't say we follow any evolution nor do we care to "evolve".
What are you doing under Pavement Records!!!???
We aren't actually under Pavement Records. We are signed with Arctic Music and Pavement only helps
to promote and distribute Arctic releases. They are 2 entirely separate labels.
What do u think about Anton LaVey?
If it had not been for the writings of
LaVey and bands like Destruction, Possessed, Venom and Bathory I probably wouldn't be playing music
at all.
What do you think about dark throne?
Darkthrone is one of my all time favorite
bands. "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" is in my top 5 albums. They have been a big influence on me
since the early 90's.
Your voice is particular, sometimes very
scorched, it reminds me some hardcore bands. Is this sort of music have an influence for you?
No, we aren't influenced by hardcore at
all. I do not do vocals except for one track, which is "Destruction to the Throne of God". Xul would
be the right person to answer this question but I think I can speak for him and say there's no
hardcore influence whatsoever.
Are there some bands in the USA, labels
or zine which support ACTUALLY black metal movement?
Yes, there are many zines and labels over
here that support black metal. Some that I can think of off the top of my head would be Blood Fire
Death Records, Warhammer Records, Genocide Music, Drachnorian Hymms Records, Arctic Music, Lost
Disciple Records, Red Stream, Dark Horizon Records. Some zines would be Total Necro (this zine
fucking rules!!), Under the Ashes, Mainstream Resistance, Realms of Darkness, Pennsylvanian
Hunger/USBM Zine, and Erebus. There's actually very many.
Finally, can you list all people, bands, labels ( etc etc etc etc) that you hate and want to murder?
( the maximum of violence is required in this last answer)
Faggots, white lighters, christians, vegans, the whole nu metal genre, cradle of filth and all other
mallgoth bands and the pussies that listen to that shit, all the other boyloving hierarchy of Vatican city, rip-off
traders or zines (you fuckers know who you are!!), Metallica and other bands that sell out to
corporate music, Anthrax for infesting metal with rap music, pro-lifers, trendwhores, people that
talk shit and hide behind computers, basically everyone that annoys me. To sum it up just about all
of humanity.
