Interviewed by Obliterater & answered by Xaphan. SO HOW THE IS IT GOIN BROTHER, WHATS NEW WITH KULT... AND CAN YOU TELL OF THE RECENT SOTNC BLACKFEST... 666 fucking blackened hails!! Right now there's quite a lot going on within the manifestation known as Kult ov Azazel. We have begun practicing with a local drummer and will begin writing the 3 to 4 new songs that will end up on our live CD release that will be titled "Black Mass Consecration". So right now we are very busy with showing the new drummer all the old songs and are also busy writing newer ones for the live cd and the next full-length album, both of which will be out in 2002. Speaking on the topic of the SotNC fest, the best words to describe it would be an intense day of alcohol and blasphemy!! I am very honored to have the privilege to say that we have shared the stage with some of the best hordes that North America has to offer when it comes to black metal. I have been to many fests, both large and small but there was something this fest had that all the other fests have lacked and I think that was the sense of unity between not only the bands but also with the people that showed up. It was a gathering of the most unholy of the dark minions and I think it went over quite well. The whole night and lasting impression was a very magical one and we hope to be asked back to future gatherings set up by Blackthorn. WHATS NEXT FOR KULT OV AZAZEL.... ANY UPCOMING BLASPHAMIES? Like I just mentioned, we'll be releasing a live CD that is titled "Black Mass Consecration" very soon. This CD will consist of 9 live songs plus 3, maybe 4, new studio tracks and will also include live footage from a show we did back in August. Aside from that we are also preparing the layout for the first ever vinyl release of the demo MCD "Order of the Fly". This is will be a limited hand numbered release to 300 with the first 100 being red vinyl. We are working with Crooked Cross Records on the re-issue of "OotF" in vinyl format and have been told it will be unleashed around February. Our next full length for Arctic Music will be out in the fall of 2002 yet untitled. WHAT INSPIRES OR SHOULD I DARE SAY BEWITCHES KULT OF AZAZEL TO BE SO FUCKING BRUTAL!! Overall it's our disgust for religion and the mindless fucks (mankind) that follow blindly that drives us to do what we do. Hate, blasphemy, destruction and Satan is what bewitch us!! WHERE DO YOU SEE KULT OV AZAZEL IN 5 YEARS, HOW DO YOU MENTALY SEE THE FUTURE DARK REALMS OF KULTS SOUND MATURING AND WILL THERE BE ADDED INSTRUMENTS OR KEYS ETC.... If we are even around 5 years from now we'll still be following the way that we have walked since the inception of this band. We will never compromise our beliefs or style to make music to please people. We have since the beginning started this band to be a fist in the face of religion. Our goal and purpose is to make it known that there are others out there that like us wage war upon Christian belief and doctrines. This band has from the start always been only Xul and myself and other than a drummer we wish to have no others in the band. Maybe down the line I will invoke a session guitarist only for live shows, and live shows only!! This person will have no say or contribution to this band other than playing shows with us. You will never hear keyboards, female vocals or any of that other trendy faggot shit ever with this band. So with each year we will progress as musicians I am sure since progression is only natural but we will stay true to our roots and continue to play nihilistic fucking black metal the way we have been doing it.
