Interviewed by Pit Goddess, answered by Xaphan Which do you prefer, European or USBM? I like both, there is no preference. What sets KoA apart from any other USBM band? We don’t adhere to trends and have never compromised our music because of others opinions. Your artwork is amazing! Who is behind it? A guy by the name of Josh Bowens. Do you feel black metal is becoming more trendy these days? Why or why not? How will this be influenced by the upcoming Lords of Chaos video? To be perfectly honest I don’t care. I only want to make music and spread the ideology of Satanism, not get caught up in the everyday drama that is the US scene or any scene for that matter. What is your favorite part of being in KoA? Being in the studio or on stage. KoA doesn’t ascribe to the typical BM “wind tunnel” production. KoA has a thrashy, 80’s-90’s type sound…which bands influence you? Speaking for myself it is Venom, Possessed, Sodom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, early Slayer, “Bonded by Blood” era Exodus, Destruction, Bathory, Darkthrone, old Mayhem, Beherit, Gorgoroth and so on. There are a lot of bands that have inspired me over the past 35 years. Any upcoming shows? No. We are currently focused on the next album instead of live gigs. What would be your dream show to play? I guess it would be to play on the same bill as Venom or Darkthrone. Which is more important, image or lyrical content in BM? Both. Thanks for all your time! Stay true!
