Interviewed by Tony & answered by Xaphan Can you tell the readers a little bit about Kult Ov Azazel? We formed in the spring of 1999 under the name Azazel. We released a promo then self released our first mCD "Order of the Fly". The mCD gained a lot of good reviews and got us on a few compilations. We then released another promo "Of Evil and Hatred" in the beginning of 2000 and a few months later changed the name to Kult ov Azazel. The "Order of the Fly" mCD was reissued again on Blood Fire Death Records under the new name later in the fall. Last November we entered Studio 13 to record our first full length CD "Triumph of Fire" for the label we have signed with, Arctic Music. Just recently the tracks we recorded in February of 2000 were released on the "Kult ov Azazel/Krieg" split CD released by Genocide. Kult Ov Azazel has recently released "Triumph of Fire". How has the response been? Yeah, "Triumph of Fire" was released in March over here in the States. So far we have received great response from it. It consists of 11 tracks of misanthropic black metal. Don't expect to hear any keyboards or female vocals when you buy this CD because YOU WON'T! Instead you'll get 39 minutes of hate, blasphemy and viciousness that reflect our beliefs and inspirations. The release date for Europe will be May 28th. What does the future for Kult Ov Azazel look like? Right now we're in the process of auditioning drummers since the one used on the new release was only a session member. Once we have found the right person we'll be doing some touring and look to release another full length by the end of the year. What is your inspiration? My personal inspirations are Satanism and the occult, philosophy, and extreme music. Do you have any new material? We have begun to work on new material but nothing has been recorded yet. What does Kult ov Azazel aspire to change in the world? We don't aspire to change anything. To aspire for something means to hope for it and the only the thing we could possibly hope for is the death of christian thought and ideology and mass destruction upon the human race.
